Multiply - Keyboard navigation

Now you can use keyboard shortcuts on Multiply Message Board.

Install this script (click on the link above) and use the following shortcuts:

  j -> Next message
  k -> Previous message
  J -> Next unread message
  K -> Previous unread message
  r -> read message
  R -> read message in new tab
  > -> Next page
  < -> previous page

Update 2007-11-16: Added in version 0.2:

  u -> toggle unread
  g -> toggle groups
  0 -> Mine
  1 -> My Contacts
  2 -> Close Network
  3 -> Medium Network
  4 -> Distant Network

Update 2007-11-19: Added in version 0.3:

  c -> toggle custom filter menu

The 'c' key is useful only if you also have installed the Multiply Message Board Plus script.

Update 2007-11-20: Version 0.4: bug fix. Check modifiers when handling keypresses.

Update 2007-11-21: Version 0.5: Supports table view of Message Board.

Update 2007-11-28: Version 0.6: Better support for table view (page navigation keys work now.)

Update 2007-12-18: Version 0.7 and 0.8: shortcut keys for photos

  n -> next page
  p -> previous page
  a -> album page

Update 2008-01-17: Version 0.9 and 0.10: Make album navigation keys (n, p, and a) work in new style photo albums.

Update 2008-01-22: Version 0.11: Bug fix for album navigation keys (n, p, and a) to properly work in albums with rearranged photos.

Update 2008-07-24: Version 0.12 and 0.13: more shortcut keys for photos

  z -> zoom in photo
  b -> go back to photo page (from zoomed in photo)
  u -> go up to album page (from individual photo) -- same as 'a' key

Missed a keyboard shortcut in the above list:

  s -> focus on the first link in Message Summary box

Once on the first link, press TAB to move to next link and press ENTER to visit the page.

Version 0.3. 'c' to show/hide Custom Filter menu. As with the 's' key (Message Summary box), first custom filter link is focused when the 'c' key is pressed. Press TAB key to navigate to next link. Pressing the 'c' key again hides the menu.

fyi...only works in summary view...when viewing in table view keyboard shortcuts don't work =(

Tony, upgrade to the latest version. Should work much better in table view.

Shortcut keys for photo pages added. Since the script has ventured beyond the ~~Message Board~~ Inbox, name of the script is also changed appropriately.

The name change means the old version of the script ("Multiply - Keyboard navigation on Message Board") is not replaced by the new version. So, uninstall the old one.

Photo album shortcut keys were broken when new ajax-style albums were introduced in the recent release. They are fixed now (version 0.10).

I am happy to say that using 'n' and 'p' keys makes the photo albums a breeze to navigate.
